  • All Teams check-in will begin at 6:00am, Saturday August 2nd

  • All Meats must be from a USDA Approved Source

  • Cooks Meeting will be at 8:00am (08/02/2023)

  • Backyard Meat Inspections will begin at check-in

  • Live BBQs should be attended to at all times

  • Any Wood, Gas, Pellet BBQ’s are allowed.

  • Grease containers will be provided near BBQ area, no ground dumping!

  • Ash containers will be provided and are for ash only (No Trash)

  • A min 5 lb. charged fire extinguisher must be visible at each pit

  • All teams must leave their cook-site as clean as they found it

  • This is a family event, please use good taste in the display of all banners, etc.

  • Event held rain or shine / No refunds.

The contest will be governed by the Backyard Rules set forth by the Kansas City BBQ Society, copies of the rules can be requested by email.
